Volunteer info

Our volunteers play an essential role in making our faire a success. From projects through out the year, to set-up and tear-down, to various shifts throughout the event, our volunteers are critical to bringing the medieval faire to life. Interested in helping out? Volunteer roles

Set up and Tear down

Duties

All hands on deck. Before fair opens we need many hands to get all of our décor and set pieces in place and built. This entails building stages, setting up tents, moving tables, hanging flags, and setting up different areas so they are ready for our attendees to enjoy when we open. 

Tear down is all of the above in reverse. 

Skills

Standing, walking, lifting, tool use, attention to detail, ability to follow instructions both detailed and opened ended. 

Grounds Steward

Duties

While not glamorous, this job is crucial. This role ensures the site is clear of trash and debris, keep the trash cans managed, and make sure privies are always well stocked with toilet paper.

Fairy Glen

Duties

This is the main children's location. The majority of this shift will include helping children with carious arts and craft, activities, and games. Also, helping hand out prizes for the dragon egg hunt for those that complete the hunt but aren't able to make it to the ceremony.

Knight's training area

Duties

Work closely with the Fairy Glen. The largest responsibility is managing the shield painting area.

Info booth attendant

Duties

This location is the heart of the faire. Guests, volunteers, merchants, and performers will come to you with questions. Important documents may be stored at the booth. Merch is sold at the booth

Merchant Runner

Duties

You'll move about the entire fair to check in on merchants and performers. Make sure the merchants have a moment to step away to the privy and are properly hydrated. Also a gopher sometimes.

Gate attendant

Duties

Greet guests on their way to the ticket booth. Help guests with wristbands. Hand out print materials, answer questions about the faire and performances.  Assist ticket booth as needed.

Ticket booth attendant

Duties

Work at the ticket booth to process ticket purchases, gather tourism info, and disseminate info to guest. 

Skills

Cash handling, customer service, knowledge of ticket prices, knowledge of site and performance schedule, attention to detail, 

Tavern tender

Duties

Sling that mead. Tend to thirsty adventurers while they take a break from shopping and shouting at knights. Proper certifications are required. Must be 21+

Skills
